Week 36! Beef Jerky and vitamins attack

So this week I gave up on life and got really sick on beef jerky, haha. It'll be in the funny moments. Most of this week we had teaching appointments and meetings. Also with losing a day in the field because of the tour, it made the week go by really fast. We didn't find a lot of people because of the busy schedule but that happens sometimes. Last night, there was a member missionary fireside in Manchester. It's basically where all the new converts share their conversion story. We took Josh, our friend who's been investigating for a while, and got to go. It was super spiritual, and a whole family spoke too! The father had been a less active member and when the missionaries came to visit, they ended up teaching the whole family. The dad came back to church and got to baptize his whole family. We got to hear his testimony and the testimony of his 2 oldest kids. It was so beautiful! President also spoke and he gave a powerful testimony using the hymn how firm a foundation. He talked about how Jesus Christ is the foundation of his church and how he has promised us that he would help us nor fear or despair, constantly give us aid, strengthen us, help us, cause us to stand, and hold us up by his omnipotent hand. Hyms have a huge power in bringing the spirit to our homes. I always took them for granted and never really bothered to listen before. I'd like to invite everyone reading to pick your favorite hymn and to read it out loud and really think of the message behind it. I can promise that it will uplift and strengthen your day.
Funny stuff:
I was unaware that one of my vitamins had iron so I think I overdosed on iron again
According to sister gilland fruit is not food
England dogs are really stuck up. When their owners let us pet them, the dogs always ignore us. It makes me so mad. I can't wait to see my spazz dog again
One of the ysa asked me to draw a realistic picture of him hugging Jesus. I thought it would be funny to get that famous painting of Jesus hugging the lamb and to crop his face on the lamb. One of the elders showed me how to do it and we sent it to him. It was so funny. (don't worry I am doing the drawing).
I have this stupid callous on my foot the size of a pebble because of one of my shoes. Now I always feel like I have something in my shoe when I know I don't.
I got beef jerky on zone conference, and I felt like I was trying to smuggle out drugs. Beef jerky is really expensive in England and not that good so getting some from home is a huge treat.
My diet is around 50% beef jerky right now.
I just realized that I was making myself super dehydrated because I was eating too much beef jerky.
Sister Gilland will whip and dance to the hymns on her tablet
I got these vitamin c gummies that tasted just like the fizzy orange candies. I ate like 5 at once so I was like 500% vitamin c one day
I also got these hair and nail vitamins for my hair, and they are the foulest things on the planet. The fish oil has nothing on that crap. Sister Gilland promises though that in a few weeks that my hair will grow faster than a squirrel on coffee so hopefully the smell is worth the prize.
I offered some beef jerky to Josh, completely forgetting how he told me he was vegetarian like a day before. I've become that person
** Super cool story behind the picture of Haley with the man and woman.. I (Gwen) Shot a wedding for a sweet couple 2 weeks ago.. the mother of the bride is from England. Her brother who still lives in England came for the wedding. He and his wife had just moved to Chorley where Haley is serving! I chatted with them at the wedding and sent them with a picture of Haley. They told me they'd find her for me and they did!

  1. Belief is the reason we go on a mission. It is the motive for preaching about Christ and sharing/Proclaiming his love. Faith is understanding we are children of God and our Heavenly Father. May this definition of faith bless you in your life. Faith is defined again and because faith has an inherent joy it gives us a solid foundation that we finally have the peace we have been searching for.

"Many believer's feed themselves on what God hasn't done. When I dwell on what hasn't happened, I create the atmosphere for the spirit of offense to arise and to thrive. When I dwell on what hasn't happened, I legitimize unbelief. I live with a sense of justification, for not believing God.

Faith in the purest sense is the ceasing of resistance. even when there's no physical evidence, when the other evidence is present. Not feeding ourselves on what God hasn't done Faith in it's purest form is the absence of resistance

Heaven is a place where everyone is celebrated, some are more honored but everyone is celebrated. All men and all women shall be judged on the light which they have received. Heaven is a permissible culture. God's nature is eternally permissible. These statements protect us from credit.

Faith in the purest sense is the ceasing of resistance, even when there's no physical evidence, when the other evidence is present. Not feeding ourselves on what God hasn't done. Faith in it's purest form is the absence of resistance. Faith doesn't deny a problems existence, it denies it's influence. He or she was someone whom aridity and desolation never disturbed for he or she had a deeply rooted, and a vigorous faith.

Now we can act as we have always dreamed. Now we can act as we have always been. Now we can step into the light and gather the sunlight instead of blocking out our possibilities. Instead of blocking out our joy. Variety will bloom in/under the sun. We can show off our best, we can enjoy other people's gifts. We can blossom where we stand upon the joy that faith provides us. Upon the joy that faith inherently has, which blossoms the entire field of flowers"
